NREL's Solar Screenings and Implementation Assistance for Universities
Deadline: January 15, 2016
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy's SunShot initiative, is offering free assistance to universities seeking to go solar by providing screenings and implementation assistance. The program is designed to increase the deployment of mid-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at universities, engage stakeholders to develop deployment solutions, and to empower decision makers.  Any U.S. higher education institution is eligible to apply.

SEED NEWS: AACC Receives Grant for 2-Year Green Jobs Program and Unveils its SEED Strategic Plan AACC is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a two-year grant from the Kresge Foundation to support community colleges in becoming leaders in sustainability practices and preparing students and workers for careers in high-growth sectors of the emerging green economy. The grant is an expansion of AACC’s existing Sustainability Education & Economic Development (SEED) initiative.

AACC has also unveiled its new strategic plan,
Community Colleges in the Emerging Green Economy: Charting a Course and Leadership Role. Developed by community college presidents, it describes the national community college sector’s shared vision for promoting a green economy and AACC’s supporting role, nationally, in realizing this vision.
